Kim Kim Chinese Hakka Restaurant is a no frills kind of eatery.  Their menu is extensive with dozens of choices of fried rice, chicken, pork, beef, seafood, noodles, soup, and vegetables.

On this visit for a late lunch, we shared four items between the four of us.

The Lollipop Chicken was nicely fried and crispy.  This is such a popular Chinese Hakka item to order (I've ordered it before at Tangerine, another Hakka restaurant).

We asked for the Tandoori Fish to be less spicy, but it was still a tad spicy.  It tasted great in any case.  The fillet was slightly crispy while the inside was flakey.

The Broccoli with Garlic Sauce smelled so fragrant with the garlic pieces.

The Vegetable Fried Rice was delicious.

To our surprise, we also got an extra serving of white rice on the side.  We had so much food on the table!  We ended up taking the leftover home.

At the end of the meal, we received complimentary fortune cookies.

Aside from delicious and savory items, Hakka Chinese food tends to be so economical too.  Each dish is usually only about $7 to $12, so it works out to $10 on average per dish to share.

Hakka food is a serious guilty pleasure of mine. It's because we don't have the quality and depth of Toronto style Hakka here in MTL. I'm going to warn you. This is not the type of food you want to eat often on a frequent basis. Because it's highly greasy and lots of oil is used to fry the items but damm is it tasty. My go to's are usually the Manchurian chow mein- great wok hei, chilli chicken- spicy flavourful. Ginger chicken. In a wet gravy but so flavourful of ginger. Mirchi corn. Spicy fried corn fritters with green chillies. Everything was awesome. They did not disappoint with lots of spicy deliciousness. They also had mango lassis fresh in the fridge which was a great refreshing touch to wet the whistle after some fiery food. The spice and depth of flavour is vibrant here and the food is awesome. Can't wait to come back

I gave this place 5 stars for the following reasons:

Food is absolutely delicious and fresh. They serve them right away and everything taste like it's just out of the frying pan. My personal favorite is the Kim Kim special chicken, it's spicy and absolutely savoury.

The price is more than reasonable. Chicken and beef dishes are only $9-$10 plates each.

The portion is crazy large. Everything you order comes with rice and a big plate of food! This is also the greatest thing about this place.

The service is also excellent. They are very attentive, fast and polite to you. There's even free cookies provided after the bill.

    I'll definitely go back.

I tried one of their lunch specials,I got the Chicken with vegetables on top of steamed rice. The selection of veggies it came with was good and the sauce had a great flavour. The portion size was also great and it also came with a Hot and Sour Soup ( the soup wasn't that great, the taste was a bit off and it was pretty watered down )

I noticed that they offer a dish called Chicken and Chinese Vegetables, so I might try that next time.

Overall, would come back and get their lunch special again, its definitely worth the price, plus they have a great variety of dishes in their lunch specials .

We were in the area and looking for something to eat. I'm from Florida and always use yelp to find some yummy eats. My wife and mother in law are from the area and were sceptical of this place cause they never heard of it. We ordered 4 dishes and all were delicious. The spicy shrimp was amazing as well as the Hakka noodles. All of us were pleased and happy customers.
